Direct indirect speech rules in hindi-
- Direct to indirect speech में inverted commas (,) हटा दिया जाता है
- Reporting verb के बाद comma ( ,) का use नहीं किया जाता है
- Reporting verb का tense कभी नहीं बदला जाता है
- Reporting verb के बाद reported speech के अनुसार told, asked, requested, advised ordered, me बदल जाते हैं
- Reporting verb के बाद conjunctions जैसे that,if,whether use किये जाते हैं
- I और proper noun को छोड़ कर Reported speech का first letter small letter में लिखा जाता है

Direct indirect speech examples in hindi
- Interrogative Sentence में said या told की जगह asked का use किया जाता है
- Interrogative Sentence में ‘That’ conjunction का use नहीं किया जाता है
- Interrogative Sentence के अंत मे प्रश्नवाचक चिन्ह ( ?) का use किया जाता है
- क्रिया , सर्वनाम तथा अन्य शब्द के परिवर्तन नियम का use किया जाता है
- Interrogative Sentence में if या whether का use किया जाता है
1- Rakesh said to his friend where is your car?
Rakesh asked his friend where his car was?
2- I said to my friend have you ever gone to Kanpur?
I asked my friend if he had ever gone to Kanpur?

direct indirect speech rules in hindi-
- exclamatory sentence में भावनाओं जैसे प्रसन्न्ता, दुःख को प्रकट करने वाले sentence को direct to indirect में बदलने के rules है
- Direct and indirect speech में प्रयोग विस्मयदिबोधक चिन्ह (!) को हटा कर full stop (.) Use किया जाता है
- exclamatory sentence में conjunction ‘that’ use किया जाता है
- exclamatory sentence में ‘said’ के जगह exclaimed, wished, Prayed, applauded, cried to, bade का use किया जाता है
- exclamatory sentence में भाव के अनुसार with sorrow, with joy का use किया जाता है
1- he said, “alas! that I am undone.”
He exclaimed with regret that he was undone.
2- he said, “Hurrah! he was won the match”.
He exclaimed with delight that they had won the match.
3- the old man that to me may you live long
The old man prayed to God that I might live long.

Direct indirect examples in Hindi
Direct and indirect speech जब sentence में आज्ञा, प्रार्थना तथा सलाह देने वाले sentence direct to indirect को imperative sentence कहलाते हैं
imperative sentence में said की जगह पर ordered requested advised का प्रयोग किया जाता है
imperative sentence में Sir madam please kindly, gentle के साथ reported speech की क्रिया से पहले to लगाते हैं
ordered requested advised के साथ object लिखकर reported speech की क्रिया से पहले to का use किया जाता है
imperative sentence में said to की जगह proposed suggested का use किया जाता है
imperative sentence में Let us की जगह that they should का प्रयोग करो
1- Shyam said to his servant post this letter at once
Shyam ordered his servant to post that letter at once.
2- the beggar said to the lady, “please give me a loaf of bread.”
The beggar requested the lady to give him a loaf of bread.
3- the doctor said to the patient, “do not eat much otherwise you may fall ill.”
